Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief is an amazing book with a fun storyline, characters, and lots of wit. This is one of my absolute favorite books and I think that people of all ages will enjoy this book. Another reason I enjoyed this book so much is because I have always loved greek mythology and this story incorporates it into modern day times.

The book is about Percy Jackson, a twelve year old boy who has never been able to stay in any one school very long, with ADHD and dyslexia. His mother is married to a slob they both hate, and he's never met his real father. Then, one day that all changes when he and his mother are attacked by a minotaur and he is taken to camp half-blood, the only safe place for "his kind" half mortal half god children. Once he is claimed by his father, he is blamed by Zeus for stealing his masterbolt, so Percy sets out on a quest with his best friend Grover and Annabeth, a mysterious girl from cabin 6. Along the way friendships are born, mortal enemies made, and lots of sarcasm and wit exchanged.
